Leather colours are black, brown, tan and burgundy. Full-grain leather is the top layer of the hide with its natural surface left intact, so each wallet has slightly different grain and will darken and soften with use; tan shows this change the most, black the least. The product page lists the exact layout: number of card slots, whether there is a coin pocket, and whether the note section is full length.
Engraving is burned into the leather with a laser, which leaves a darker, slightly recessed mark that does not rub off. Short text works best: initials, a name, a date, or a line of up to about 30 characters depending on the wallet. Script and block fonts are available; the product page shows a preview of each.
If you are choosing between sizes, a bifold suits someone who carries cash and several cards; a slim wallet suits a front pocket and up to six cards; a card holder is for people who carry a phone case and little else.
