Brass hardware ages to a soft matte finish; steel stays bright. The leather is full-grain and will soften and darken slightly with handling, especially the tan.</p>\n<p>Engraving space is small, so the character limit on each product page matters: a single name, a date, a set of initials, or short coordinates.
